Chinatown (Petaling Street): Food & Heritage

Petaling Street Market

This iconic covered market is filled to the brim with bargain shopping, traditional remedies, and must-try street food like air mata kucing drinks, which is like an earthy sweet tea with its rock sugar sweetener, and Hokkien mee, or Fujian noodles, which are slightly sweet, yet salty noodle dish with prawns and other local greens.  At night, it transforms into a vibrant night market with incredible energy. This is where it seemed everyone was at, as the street market was bustling with food stalls and shops filled with people from all over.
